For those of you still working, how is Week 1 going? What new, crazy rules are they imposing on faculty? How's Ashley and Anna behaving?

Chris was an idiot. When he was introduces as the new faculty PD and was given a chance to speak to all faculty, he said "I dont have anything to say" Probably because he had PJ fat Co*k in his mouth!
@189: you said, "The Business and CJ PDs are all Dumbasses!"
You must be referring to Christopher "this is my first real job out of college" Rosbough (puke!)
035...... Boy you are stupid! The Deans had nothing to do with this. This was an academic decision that was pull by Tina S or the CAO. The Deans may have made most of the scripted calls. And you should go after your PD. Yes they report to the Dean, but it is the PDs job to be a manager. Most of them were OK. The Business and CJ PDs are all Dumbasses!
I got to say that some of you here really need to stop beating up a PD and go after the dean. The dean is the boss and not the PD. I do not give a damn what Anna did or did not do. She is only a worker like we were. I heard her husband got laid off too. Do you think if she has as much power as you say she does, she would not stop whoever from laying off her husband? It is the dean that should be on the hot seat for allowing this to happen in the first place. Dean Pierce is the sole person responsible for our layoffs and lets focus on him, for he is really the one who did this action. That is unless you are afraid of a dean!
Have any of you stopped and wonder if they are restricting the PDs from calling those people who were laid off. I have several friends in SLS that were laid off too and their PD is not calling. I think this is more than a PD issue here. This is a company issue and a company problem. No PD has the power to decide that a lay off company wide would be serve the company. That is made much higher above. Anna was not here when the call were made to those like myself who were laid off. So, what do you want? Do you think Anna should be calling you who are laid off like myself to hold your hand? Lets all move on now and find the work we need with a good company.
Anonymous90993, why lay off the entire faculty in certain divisions? People who are experts in their field, being replaced by people who are not? People who had been with the company for over 5 years with excellent evaluations, and let go? People that were recommended to Michael and Anna by other groups to be course leads, and let go? I know some who were with the company for over 10 years, and basically help build every course being offered. The current faculty are surfing on the work of this one person. And what dignity was paid this person? They were let go. So yes ... let's put the blame where it really belongs, right? Unless Anna told you personally she had nothing to do with it ... and even then unless you have direct proof ... then you can keep your "Anna fandom" ... perhaps she had nothing to do with it ... perhaps she did. I, like the post below, never heard from Anna, and I'm extremely disappointed in her lack of response to my emails and phone calls.
Anonymous90993, fact is, Anna did not reach out to any of the faculty that was let go. For a person who "stands by her faculty" or "fights for her faculty", the lack of communication speaks volume to me.
I would say, let actions speak louder than words.
To me, if she really cared about her faculty, I would have heard from her (on her personal cell) ... "Is everything ok? Are you doing alright? Here is what I know ..."
Instead, I'm simply a forgotten memory.
Just an FYI, I have had two other higher ups at the college do this very thing to check on me. Anna did not.
Now, in fairness, perhaps she did not know who was laid off. Perhaps this is all Michael's doing, or HR.
I'm sure Anna is a great person.
But as a leader, I would bend over backwards to check on my faculty if something like this happened.
Anna I can tell you had she had no input who was going to be laid off or not. As a member working on her team, I can tell you she was on vacation when this all happened. I would say that the opposite would be true, Anna would fight to keep all her staff is she could. I think or should say I know that our prior PD out of Colorado did not follow all that was required of us. That person chose what the team would do and not do. That is a fact. Anna simply took over the team and was instructed to be sure everything was done as the dean and higher ups wanted done. So, as a member of her team, I think blaming Anna on everything is wrong and those who do should really look at how we were led by the previous PD into not doing all that was needed to be done. Maybe, because of the lack leadership of our past PD, some of our evaluations of getting work done were poor and that resulted in the those laid off. Put the blame where it really belongs, right?
The latest meeting, Anna referred to the firings as the "big change". The number on the people on the call was easily 20% what it was previously.
It sounded as if instructors were just now getting classes, although I think Monday was the start of the term. Someone asked if a certain instructor had gotten any classes yet, and he said he hadn't had a chance to check yet.
There was much discussion that she was "putting out fires" and that they were having trouble filling out the tutoring schedule.
So much trouble ... they had to get special permission to "require" adjuncts to fill in spaces that previous full time faculty would have covered.
To the post below, I don't know Ashley and can't speak to it. But I had info that Anna was in some part responsible for who was chosen to get fired. Despite recommendations from other people about who they should keep, Anna and Michael chose who they wanted to (and many of which were direct opposite of who others in the org thought they should keep).
As a person who was laid off and had worked under both Ashley and Anna, the one I would watch would be Ashley. Anna simply did what was required from the Dean and above. Anna told the truth and she did not sugar coat anything. If you did what was expected of you with Anna, then she would complement you and it was sincere. As for Ashley, you could tell this person was out for herself. She ruled her SOS meetings with terror. No one would say anything during a SOS meeting with Ashley for fear of retaliation from her. She had her moles and was found of making a huge deal out of anything you said. Even her tone of starting the SOS call was something sarcastic -"Hello Everybody." I guess that is the difference between Ashley and Anna. Anna originally took a lot of heat from her PLs when she took over from Katherin. That was because Kathrin did not do all that we were expected to. Once we saw what was really needed to be done, did the work as Anna presented to us, our department met the requirements and student success increased. I could not imagine what is going to happen now with Ashley in charge in SLS. Remember, if is true, Ashley is always saying "I spoke to Tina." I guess she bypasses the dean and has a personal goal of maybe one day being the dean. I would not think a twenty eight year old person like Ashley should be a dean. Anna who is much older worked her way from Adjunct to PL while Ashley started as a PL. Ashley never taught a course. Finally, lets not forget there is also another person who is a PD - Dave.
