If Heald remains open then the California AG has lost. She really hasnt taken down any of the schools , just moved them over to a new name. The bad CA schools (Everest Hayward and San Francisco) were already closed anyways. Why would she then allow a sale of Heald? She would look foolish that all she did was transfer issues to another school system. Unless her plan is to dismantle them as well.

Heald isn't going to remain open. NO ONE is going to buy an institution whose enrollment is heading rapidly to ZERO.
Heald is a big time institution throughout California? What? I am a Heald Grad and a former employee and I can tell you that at least 70% of the people I mention the name to have never heard of Heald.
If you all know so much about who is buying Heald then say it. Answer is you don't know because this kind of buying is done with cintracts! It is quite until the deal is done!!
Heald doesn't have a buyer. NO ONE is interested anymore. That sounds cruel but those are the facts of life.
No, Heald is obviously not big-time in any way, BUT nobody wants to be responsible for the lay-offs and taxpayer-funded bailout that a shut-down would entail. It would be a mess, so the AG and the DOE would very much like to find a solution that doesn't make them seem responsible for the legal and economic mess that is probably coming. They should have acted much sooner and shut down CCI years ago. Now, nobody wins except the CCI scumbags who took the money and left nothing of value behind.

At this point, the AG doesn't seem to want this hot potato. She is now moving out of the world of local politics into the big time with a run for Senate. The problem now is how to alienate the fewest possible groups. Heald is a big-time institution throughout CA. Trying to take them down would have ramifications that could seriously hurt Harris' fundraising. This is why we are not seeing meetings between Heald legal, President, and CA government.
OP, the Cal AG doesn't have the power to stop or block the sale of Heald. What she does have the power to do, and is presently doing, is to not grant the new owner indemnification of legal liability. My point is that if a buyer wants Heald and sees the potential oopportunities, they may be willing to take on the liability and try to work with the Cal AG directly. I'm not saying she will settle with a new owner, I'm simply saying its a possibility.
