They've tried to keep it secret, we were told to keep quiet about the layoffs. It should be known that they laid off multiple branch personnel. I think there were many other ways to cut costs, they spend money like any other frivolous bank. This didn't have to happen to so many families. They didn't care about our income, insurance, retirement benefits but they sure care about all their awards for being an outstanding employer!

Umpqua has money to waste on hiring people like Suchin Pak and other obscure wannabe celebrities to make PODCASTS about banking instead of spending money to retain loyal employees. Who would voluntarily listen to a podcast about opening an account??????????? They already pay their employees far below the industry standard. They also have the arrogance to proclaim themselves, "The World's Greatest Bank". A slap in the face to their customers and their employees. Take it from me, a current employee; close your accounts there and go to a credit union or a different, real community bank.
