Thread regarding Corinthian Colleges Inc. layoffs

Interesting

Nobody on here can just admit that they are in the business of ripping off people. When someone says how bad the education and sales tactics are at CCI/Zenith all the comebacks are saying "how's living with mom" or "sorry your job less" but yet nobody will defend the schools education practices. Would be refreshing to hear an Ad Rep on here just say the truth, this is a phony overpriced product disguised as a higher learning institution.

P.S. I am happily employed and a happy owner of 2 properties. Things have only been better since I left CCI (yes left on my own) but I still check in to view this site periodically for the amazing stories of corruption. Best wishes to you all.

v: Funny how you are so sure that for-profit career colleges are "liberal" when it's the Democrats who have been trying to rein them in and the Republicans protecting them every step of the way. How do you twist that in your mind to fit your preferred narrative?

Well, OP, whoever you are, nothing has changed. We are still all about "smile and dial" and "asses in classes." If you're in Admissions, you'll get fired for not making your enrollment goal, in Education for not making your retention goal, in financial aid for not making your $$$ goal, in CP for not making your placement goal. All just a blatant means of pressuring folks to get anyone with a pulse signed up, pass them through, finagle government money for them, and fudge their results so we can still keep suckers moving through the money making machine. If anything, Hawn and the rest of ECMC are worse than Jack. They don't even pretend that management is supposed to do the right thing.

Education practices? How about the majority of students who can't read, write, or use a computer. Hell, most of the students can't even speak clearly.

Yes, Everest is part of the problem and the education has been watered down so the dummy students can pass the courses. Everyone knows this. At the end of the day the students are too dumb to realize that their degree with worthless. Of course, you get out of it with what you put into it. I've had some really bright, sharp students who were hungry to learn. I always had to find ways to keep them challenged because the curriculum was not challenging at all.

This school, along with all the for profit schools are filling a perceived need, they are all rip-offs. The problem is much bigger and its the liberal government view that everyone should go to college. Clearly when you deal with these students, most should never go to college and are just ripping off the system to live on it. I suspect the increase in sending so many losers to for profit schools is really a wealth distribution by the administration and the purpose is to keep the unemployment numbers down (students don't count), distribute my wealth to the lazy and useless folks who suck from society's teat, and feed the liberals insatiable need to feel good by screwing hard working folks.

Lets face it, few of the so called graduates will ever do better, they will go back to welfare once the education teat runs dry. Those that do better, would have anyway and didn't need to waste their money here, but it gave them confidence and that was good.

The problem is LIBERALS, not for profit schools, who are just filling a government desire. Albeit getting rich on my dime! We need to realize there are dumb people in the world and no amount of education will help them, teach them a trade.
