Thread regarding Heald College layoffs

No news is... bad news?

Usually, if there's good news, we get told about it right away and it's sensationalized so we have scraps to gnaw on during the crisis. No news is never good news. Is anyone hearing anything?

Due to SEC and CA regulations, no information on a buyer can be made public before a TA is in place. No news is probably a good sign until we hear about the sale.

Everyone at my campus is very tense. We're all assuming that no news means bad news. At this point we're all just waiting to see if we're going into teach out or if we're just going to get shut down.

There was a meeting yesterday with the Attorney General's office. No news yet about how the meeting went. In other news, CCi can't afford to pay their marketing vendors again, and as of Monday, no new leads have come into admissions, leading to a further decline in enrollments. Most admission departments are running at half of their authorized staffing levels, and the survivors are pretty much preparing for the end times.

Nothing other than "business as usual!" It's just a waiting game for everyone.
