Given the sobotaging tendencies we are displaying here. Imagine a month notice was given. A lot of us would have wreaked havoc....

The majority of the staff that I knew that were laid off were with the company for 5+ years. Colorado knew it was closing so I think the same respect would have been nice for those of us who stuck with this company in some of the most challenging of times. These are professional people and to have ZEG show us the same respect and loyalty that we have shown them would have been very nice. The severance was a nice touch but it still doesn't take the place of common courtesy.
Being upfront and honest would have been nice. We all knew the student enrollment was declining in a major way. Every time someone piped up to ask about "how this will affect us (online instructors)?" We were given BS answers such as reviewing the numbers and the adjunct faculty in place is more than enough to adjust for declining student enrollment without having to let go of any FTF or PL's.
Obviously, they were shoveling the sh1t to us for a while. The sending of the retirement plan just before was really sad. Ultimately this school is going to die so they should have just been upfront and honest with us. Sorry leadership, we aren't like you, we would not have acted like babies and actually shown some professionalism.
OP not knowing how to spell sabotaging speaks volumes.....
Could have been different if they really cleaned house during the change. I mean, you let all of the Deans go. They were the ones who had all of the information. TS is an idiot. Two books my ass. Call the publisher....isnt this FRAUD!!!!!! Whos is going to call students now? SS reps? Oh Boy, so now MP will be all over them like before.
A lot of the things that they did were very sneaky. My favorite was them sending us a retirement plan a few weeks ago just to make us think they were serious about keeping us.
Some might have, but I don't think the majority would have.
I think courtesy would have been good, especially for those of us who have been there 10+ years. I would think as a 10 year faculty member, I would have been given more respect that one day lay off with no warning and scripted response.
