90760: I was also one of the PL's that were let go. I'd love to know how we were selected but I guess we'll never know. While I'm happy for those that got to stay, for me, it's hard not to be a little negative.

We know we did our best, stayed through the hard times and really exhibited character. If it wasn't appreciated here it will be somewhere else. I hope you find something even better :)

I talked to Ashley the day of the layoffs and she found out the day prior. Anyone who was in the daily calls and says that she was telling us everything was fine is full of it. She told us two weeks out that the upper levels were holding the enrollment numbers very close and not sharing them with anyone. The end of the term week (the week before we were fired), she told us exactly how many classes there were enrollments for but had hopes for a big push during week zero. That clearly didn't happen and from just crunching the numbers, by laying us off (me included), they saved well over $50K a month from just the SLS department alone (and that is a ridiculously conservative number). These items can't be disputed... I have the calls recorded (started this after the memo stating that Skype calls would be recorded)). Now here is the flip side:

  1. From all that was said, it isn't clear how it was determined who was kept and who was let go. I have heard a myriad of thoughts on it from it was a formula of different things from seniority, evaluations, retention and passing percentages, etc. to they polled past leadership to ask who should be kept and who should be let go. There seems to be no clear answer here.

  2. Yes, a bit more notice would have been nice as Colorado knew it was closing and this seemed to go okay, but what are you going to do about it. :-(

  3. We all knew that our time was limited. The sad part is the lack of loyalty and respect to people who stuck with this company when everything hit the fan. A lot of people jumped ship but we stayed and still did our jobs to the best of our abilities.

It was an honor to work with the faculty I did and I wish everyone the best of luck in the future endeavors. (Now wish me luck in mine). :-)

To 90038

If you only worked 1 hour every other day, then I would agree you needed to go. Good luck in finding a job where you get paid high and have no expectations. Most jods expect work equal to pay, when its lopsided, then something must give.

Things I will not miss:

SOS calls

talisma

Having to kiss the ass of adjuncts that wouldn't do their work (you'd be surprised at how many didn't meet expectations but were kept)

Which are you happy to be rid of?

Really people. I was also let go. But this was the easiest job ever. I mean I got 60K to do maybe an hour worth of work every other day. Ill find another job, wont be hard, but I feel better I am gone. With the PDs, Tina, Patricia and those other idiots left, it is only a matter of time before they are all gone too. When that happens, I will be laughing as I will be their hiring manager!

Oh by the way, the scripted call was awesome: "I have a script I must read and can not answer any other questions....ready"? Or Patricia stating, "I dont know the answer, you will have to call HR." IF management does read these posts, then they are truly idiots as all the good faculty are now gone! Good luck getting an adjunct, who already has a full time job, to buy into company. Outreach my ass.......good luck SS reps. Dial to your fingers bleed!

I think Ashley, Charlie, kelly, Margo, and Anita are still there but I'm not sure on the rest of the head count.

It would have been nice to be given a heads up. Ashley made everything seem like it was fine.

I thought she was better than Anna, but at least Anna was real with us.

My weekly evaluation came as a team evaluation...

89905 - Weekly instructor classroom evaluations by us PLs and PDs. Not sure what the big deal is. I am more disappointed in leadership than anything else, you know the ones who decided who to get rid of

Wow! I had 7 years with the company, perfect evaluations, and always was a "go to" PL. It's niave but I thought I could trust my immediate leadership to give me a heads up.

If you've been fired like I have, keep your chin up. We'll find bigger & better things.

If you're still there, watch your back. No matter how smiling & kind leadership seems, most have an agenda. Take care of yourself .

I heard that Kelly remained. She had one year experience with the company but remained. Ashley cut other PLs with seven to ten years with the company. Guess Kelly and Charlie where the moles for Ashley.
