On what basis can a sender of a termination letter be sued personally. The definition of "at-will" employment is that you can be terminated for any good reason, any bad reason, or no reason at all. So long as the termination does not violate any Title VII standards, the termination is lawful, and so the sender of the letter would bear no personal responsibility.
You may be conflating the sender's actions as a representative of the company to impute personal responsibility to sender, which it almost rarely does.
How the hell can you be a "dean" at a "university" with a lowly master's in education? Michael, wake up - you would never get hired by a REAL university.
Michael, better watch yourself sending termination letters. You can be sued personally.
