It's been a long strange road for Fossil and I feel like things have finally caught up with them. I love the people at Fossil and loved serving them. But leadership has had a consistent habit over the past few years of trying to push through changes without considering the consequences and it has had a detrimental effect on the company. It was the move that really changed things though. The old days, in the old building, the place had history. And it's not that we should have stayed there, it's just that when we moved it seems like we forgot to pack up our soul and bring it with us.
I long for the days when I would get up and love going in to the office. When I knew that the day would be good no matter what was thrown at us because we were a strong team, with strong leaders and we cared about each other and the company. There was a time when you looked at the word "Authentic" on that sign and believed it. But maybe that's just nostalgia.
For the sake of the people that are there, I hope that Fossil gets their issues figured out. For those of you in IT, the ones being outsourced, the ones being cast aside. Just know that we are all here for each other. I'll be around with hugs for everyone.
