Our attrition levels are so high that some departments will never need layoffs. This applies to pretty much all engineers as well. When it comes to Amazon Corporate and Distribution Centers things are a bit different and I see us becoming more fat in both areas so I would not be surprised if Amazon was to have 2015 layoffs in one or both of the groups.

Amazon Sales have been down substantially since the 2014/2015 holiday period. the employees know this, but this does not seem to have been mentioned yet to the public. New hiring has also been put off indefinitely within the area of Customer service.
Things are not looking very good on a few levels here at Amazon, but I think Amazon is trying to make excuses, or just not say anything so there is not widespread panic and stocks plummeting for as long as they can keep up the charade of not telling the public and investors the truth.
