Thread regarding Corinthian Colleges Inc. layoffs

COCO Land Becomes Zenith Heaven?

It sounds like very little is happening from the management side. No salary reductions and few if any layoffs? This Zenith heaven despite federal criminal investigations and "cash monitoring" by the Department of Education?

Camden kid is a little nutso, but, some of what he is trying to say isn't entirely lost on me. I have worked in the proprietary school industry for many years, and some of it was with Everest. Fortunately a very short time. Here's why I left . Everest, Corinthian (now Zenith) IS everything BAD about the for profit industry. The personify it in actuality. Management makes very high salaries and in many cases are not very qualified or capable. What that makes them is, indebted. They can't really make the same elsewhere, so they happily pour the "changing lives" kookool-aid down the campus' throats. Knowing that cuts are made first in academics. The classrooms do not have the equipment needed many of the instructors although dedicated, are under qualified Everest graduates. Program Directors and instructors are grossly underpaid, while admissions is overpaid. It's the turn and burn recruitment that matters. Get them in the door, get the Federal Student Aid, hope enough of them stick around that the Feds stay off their backs. Then do it again and again and agsin.

399: That's kind of ironic, since I heard you got your electric turned back on recently and it turned out that you live in an ACTUAL cockroach circus. Oh, CK, all that time on your hands and you can't friggin' sweep the damn floor once in awhile? That's gross!

Anonymous87363: Can you not see why we're pretty sure you and CK are one and the same? How likely is it that we would get TWO totally crazy, bitter, unhinged trolls with absolutely nothing to do with our company on this board? Not likely at all. You're CK.

Anonymous87363 - wrong again donkey f***er. I'm not CK and you're pretty dumb if you think he is the only one out to get you, or even the one working hardest to bring light to your little cockroach circus.

Anonymous87138 (Camden Kid): You really lose control when people counter your ignorant, imbecilic arguments with reason and facts, don't you? YOU are the moocher, a lifelong student with no intellectual or career path who lived off of financial aid for many years and now wants a cushy professorship. Guess what? With your resume (not to mention your lack of intelligence and focus), that is NEVER going to happen for you. And by coming on here and having bizarre, mental-case temper tantrums at people who actually work in this industry, you're showing that your personal/emotional life is even worse than your professional life. We don't care if you call us childish names, but you should care that you put your real name on here and constantly humiliate yourself. You can't afford to alienate anyone who might be in a hiring position later.

anonymous 1234: So now you're imagining that people took out fraudulent loans in students' names? Wow, CK, you're actually mesmerizingly stupid. Go back to watching reality tv. It's the closest you'll ever get to having a life.

This is hilarious. If someone took out fraudulent loans in your name in the thousands of dollars....what would you do? You sound like an internet troll anyways. Goodluck at your 6 figure job, you won't have it long. They will fire all employees and change names again. Go zenith foh

It is really entertaining reading these posts. Until you attend the college and experience what the students experience and have your credit score drop fifty or more points, where you can't get a job and your diploma means nothing. You have no authority other than blowing air in this fight

87027 - Hey dogshit breath - nobody cares what excuses you make for fraud. I notice you conveniently ignored 35 years of republicans gutting unions and labor rights, destroying middle class jobs by the thousands, and slashing the safety net for the bottom 99% and instead focus only on tax cuts for the top .5%. You don't have a dog's grasp of math if you can't figure out that saddling up tens of thousands of students with mortgage sized debts for worthless pieces of paper that don't get them jobs or increase their earning power is doomed to fail. It is basic human nature - you will not get paid when they can't even pay for a roof over their heads or food or a car. It is unconstitutional to coddle private companies with absurd levels of debt for life that can't be erased.

It is funny that you have such a bad view of everyone else, when YOU are the biggest, laziest, and most worthless moocher on the board.

Hey Camden Kid - guess what? We live in a pro-business culture. Financial aid is available for students to attend their CHOICE of colleges, and the government encourages competition as a means of enforcing progress (ending of useless tenured taxpayer leaches, etc, etc). No, nothing has changed with Zenith, and nothing will. Yes, ED is 100% behind us and our success, as they should be. And yes, I make much more than you ever have (like many in my department, my salary's in the six figures). We're paid very well and deserve it. We're smart, focused folks with great communications and strategic thinking skills. Any of us could do your job, which is just reading out of a Sociology 101 textbook and giving everyone A's in hopes you'll get good student reviews and a few classes the next semester. You couldn't do any of our jobs because you lack the basic skills and work ethic. Everything is at it should be, and the grubby leisure tier of our society can bitch and moan about it all they want. Their debt is with ME, an actual taxpayer, and I'll be damned if they aren't going to pay me back. Let's see what happens with your Corinthian "Avengers" (ha, ha - that's so rich considering they all just laze around on their obese backsides watching reality TV all day). It's going to be funny! And just.

Here we go.........once again I knew it wouldn't take long for the "it's Obama's fault" haters to climb under their rocks! Why can't Re-pubic-hairs discuss subjects without blaming Obama for it or without inserting his name? Shows a real lack of imagination so I guess that's why they listen to idiots like drug addict Rush Limbaugh, that idiot Sean Hannity or the other know-it-alls who think they have the answers to all of America's problems. Hey genius....if those idiots had all the right answers why do they not run for office? How about why is it that no republicans (George Bush included) have used them to advise n how to solve the nations problems? Answer: BECAUSE THEY ARE IDIOTS LIKE YOURSELF!

Just go away Cumdump. Maybe you can go find Hillary's missing emails. Or is it perfectly ok with you that she violated federal law? There are bigger and more important things you should be worried about than for profit education. How about all the drug dealers Obama and Holder are leaving out of prison? Maybe Everest can enroll them as students. Cumdump, you are such a sad and crazy idiot.

Come on folks lets be serious here......the Dept of Education will not be closed down. That's just plain stupid to even think that. If Congress wanted that to happen it would have been done so when Bush was in office with both Chambers of Congress in Republican hands. People who say silly shit like this are the same ones who probably think they will abolish the IRS and the US Postal Service. Stop believing talk radio dummies.....its nothing but entertainment!!

So what does that tell you when one corrupt unsustainable model gets handed to another party to do the same corrupt and unsustainable activities? I wouldn't be surprised to see the department of education itself get dismantled in the next year... Or at least stripped of anything to do with funding higher education.

Some other people (e.g. the Corinthian 100) may resent the fact that this "4profit zombie college" continues to operate the same way. The fraudulent Everest commercials on television, the lead generators trolling for targets (vets, single mothers, middle-aged women, people with disabilities, immigrants, underemployed people), and the executives still making their six-figure salaries.
