It's not an opinion. There is NO SEC regualtions about not disclosing prospective buyers.

Peddle the can't disclose because of SEC regs nonsense somewhere else. Potential buyers of companies are disclosed "all the time" before a sale is commenced and in many cases the sale doesn't even occur.
