What Camden Kid gets so wrong about how things work

What Camden Kid (and a surprising number of other people who may even have career college experience) gets wrong about the college regulatory environment can be summed up in this article: http://www.slate.com/articles/life/inside_higher_ed/2015/03/the_u_s_department_of_education_punishes_colleges_it_deems_risky_with_financial.html ...you see, CK, the Dept of Ed is a branch of the U.S. Govt and is thus political. They have masters who answer to taxpayers, and who especially answer to the taxpayers (corporations are people too!) who have given them the most support in their campaigns. Just like the banking industry (which CK also bangs his head against the wall trying hopelessly to harm), career colleges are protected by many members of Congress. It doesn't matter if a few want to make some noise about CCI/Everest/ECMC/Zenith, they are just getting attention and don't even expect anything to actually be done. I'm always surprised at how naïve people can be. It may be excusable if you're in your 20's, but any older and it's just simply ignorance about the country you live in.

OP is right. Our government is not going to let an agency damage a company's business. It happened with CCI and ED was pulled way back. Their role changed from punishing to facilitating backroom deals to keep the company afloat. They're doing the same thing with the Cali schools.

Everything the government does is for political gains. It's the same whether it's a republican or a democrat. The only thing a politician is concerned about is the next election.

Anonymous85670: Hi, CK. You've been getting kind of weird with your attempts to be sneaky on here. That wasn't the lesson we wanted you to learn by telling you over and over again that you're not one of us and not welcome. So you start off by saying "You realize that we work here, right?" then suddenly it's rant & rage time, CK style: "That doesn't get you off the hook. You're still stuck defending a bunch of criminals who steal taxpayer money." Yeah, you really sound like (1) you know what you're talking about and, (2) that you work here. Your attempts at stealth are pathetic.

Hey, OP. You realize that we work here, right? We've seen the unethical shit that goes on firsthand. We know how it works. We know how rotten and criminal CCI is. And saying that everything that the government does is "political" is just your scummy way of avoiding accountability. By definition, everything that a political institution does is political. Duh. That doesn't get you off the hook. You're still stuck defending a bunch of criminals who steal taxpayer money. Yea, I got arrested for robbing a bank last week, but the police are part of the government so my arrest was just political. I didn't do nothing. Derp.

What is your point? You think the department of education making a phony sale of this pile of shit company speaks to their integrity? They are coming under a lot of deserved scrutiny now because of the obvious role they've played in fostering a predatory system that is costing taxpayers billions and not helping the youth at all.
