I only caught the end

So, if Heald is saying it doesn't have control of/access to the financials because they are with CCi, then what does CCi have to say for itself about not providing the documents? What's their excuse at this point? This is a legitimate question; I'm not being smarmy.
601- agreed. Did you hear the lawyers reponse? "We gave other sources of revenue, Title IV". What a lame response. So Title IV funding keeps us afloat? Isn't that what triggered the mess with CCI to begin with? The AG and DOE pulled Title IV and uncovered that we couldn't survive without it? The 90/10 rule is screwed up.
580, that sounds like a rhetorical question. The question is what its purpose was. In other words, was it "hey, you guys, let's get real. You can't operate without the CalGrants," or "If we give you the CalGrant money, will that be enough for you to be sustainable?" I suspect it's the former.
No they won't be working for free.
One commissioner asked how would Heald be able to operate even if given the cal fund. Woul employees be working for free?
It was awkward. As always, CCI just fell back on technicalities and pretending like we're the poor victims in all of this. Heald students were apparently brought in as part of the audience. Why? What a clumsy, transparent tactic by Heald. The committee really wanted to understand why Heald failed to provide financial information - which is a damned good question - and we couldn't give a good answer but to blame CCI. We're really, really lucky option #1 wasn't taken. The committee didn't seem interested in getting jerked around any longer by CCI.
My takeaway was that Heald got a stay of execution until April - the Cal Grants can and will be distributed to current/continuing students and then the situation will be re-evaluated in April, on the understanding that Heald/CCI will provide the appropriate financials by that point (yeah right). Is this what others understood?
568 ... I agree. They mist "ayed" the motions.
New Enrollments will continue, but without offering Calgrants until Heald provides proof of stability
Saw the Heald section. I thought Eva did a good job, but seems like the commission had already made its determination before it started.
