Thread regarding Corinthian Colleges Inc. layoffs

OP: 957 here. Its a tough balancing act. Realistically, there has to be an emphasis on enrollment and $$$, otherwise there is no reason for the rest of us to be employed. The issue is that the pool of qualified, capable students has shrunk as the economy improved. The company's need for cashflow and profits remained the same - or grew - resulting in the need to recruit a higher percentage of less capable students, using whatever methods worked. Keeping them enrolled required watered down curriculum and instructors acting as babysitters. Its a sad state of affairs.....

I actually got shots of our AD's enrollment borad with names, numbers, etc. THAT'S going to the press! I remember years ago when a pic like that got out from UoP and the press went nuts! Yup, it's definitely the same-old, same-old but now we're in the spotlight and can finally get the press/public/lawmakers to listen to what we've been trying to tell them. This place is dirty!

957: This is OP: Thank you for your comments. Is time for me to stop being optimistic that our new leadership will make any decisions to benefit the students and employees. It is sad to see that this company is still about enrollments and $$$.

OP - your questions regarding admissions issues are all valid and would be addressed anywhere except a career college. Each of your questions/suggestions would result in a decrease in enrollment, something this organization can ill afford. This is not much of a school. It is a thinly-veiled money laundering scheme for federal student loan dollars, a reality that impact every decision, policy and practice. Has anyone seen anything other than broad generalities from ECMC about how they plan to change anything?

ECMC: Please get rid of all the high CCI personnel from at least RVPO's and above. This is the only way you can establish credibility at this point. You will also, at the same time, are getting rid of the nasty CCI culture. The sooner the better before all credibility goes away.

890.., Shhhh don't tell anybody. Reps are not pressured for their numbers. We just get rid of them when they underperform for ther behavior. Funny but true!

Been telling the Kookaid drinkers this for months... ECMC cannot change the CCi culture, esp when so much of the legacy leadership remains in place. Get used to it or get out. Things are not going to change.

Wow! All we need is for the media to get wind that ECMC's statement about enrollment numbers not being a focus for Zenith and our already minimal credibility will diminish to complete nonexistence.

ECMC are even bigger crooks. Debt collectors who don't have to publicly disclose. Can't get worse
