Thread regarding AEE Solar layoffs

I have been told since the 1st day I started my position here back in October 2008 that I was going to be laid off and the Redway office was closing - I hadn\'t even worked here an full before I heard the news.. With that said - I was not suprized when I recieved my notice of Termination - though I was suprized that my manager did not offer me the option of relocating to where my position is going in the Mainstream Company - I was not suprized when they advised we would only be able to get X-amount of severaence based on x-amoutn of years- however I was suprized that Mainstream Energy has stipulated several clauses for which you may not recieve your severance - this includes if you find another position prior to the scheduled job end date (even though in this economy if you can get a job you need to take it- and who would be out there trying to find a new job if they have one) This is not good business practice - but I suppose those who will get severence pay should be grateful as they do not have provide it I must say I have counted myself fortunate to have employment over this past 14 months when so many qualified and exceptional people are not able to find work at all - and now there will be a few more added to the rolls -
