10/22 Via THONLINE: The state budget cuts to the State of Iowa Department of Corrections could result in 30 layoffs in the 1st District, home to Dubuque's probation and parole office and the Elm Street Residential Facility, according to preliminary plans released by the department today. Statewide, the department would cut about 777 positions. Of those, 262 will be openings left vacant and 515 would be layoffs.
