JJ-on-10/12: 30 people are looking for jobs after Forsyth's government made yet another round of layoffs from almost every unit, an action necessary to help balance the county budget that has had revenues reduced by a weak economy. (Via North Fulton: Layoffs Save Forsyth $650k)
The county eliminated 54 positions. Of those, 23 were vacant. An additional staff member has turned in an advanced resignation as of Dec. 31. The layoffs were effective Oct. 1 and 2.
Nixing these folks will save the county $650,000 this year, and an estimated $2.5 million in 2010.
