Air filtration company Clarcor is shutting down one of its facilities in Rockford, Ill., its former hometown, a move that involves shedding 105 jobs.

The plant is part of Franklin-based Clarcor's air filtration division, which has been part of restructuring plans since the summer of 2006. Back then, officials said they hoped to increase operating profits in their industrial/environmental segment by $14 million by the end of 2010.

The company's vice president for finance, Bruce Klein, said there will be no impact on its Tennessee operations from the Illinois, but said there will also be "a very small layoff at our Kentucky plant."

As part of its restructuring, Clarcor also closed CLC Air plants in North Carolina and Iowa in 2008 and last December began consolidating four Louisville-area facilities into one location in Jeffersonville, Ind.
