From WLWT (8/11/09): An 8/31/2009 hearing was set Tuesday for a judge to decide whether he would block the city's plan to lay off hundreds of workers, including police officers. Union officials have said they don't trust the budget numbers provided by City Manager Milton Dohoney, and they've asked Judge Robert Winkler to issue a restraining order that would allow time for an independent audit. Winkler set the hearing just days before Sept. 6, when layoffs are expected to cut 319 full-time positions from the city payroll.
