From year 2006 to the present, Zimmer has invested expand our employee base. Global employee increase over this time period is 21%, with growth in Warsaw also at 21%. Zimmer has recently taken steps that further position the company for long-term growth.
We have initiated changes in our work force, which include the elimination of positions in some areas and increases in others to balance requirements necessary to support business priorities.
Less than 5% of the global workforce is affected by the realignment; that is true for the Warsaw site, where just over 100 of our cummulative employment of more than 2,800 are affected.
100 Zimmer Layoffs
About one hundred and ten more people will be looking for work in the lovely Kosciusko County.
Warsaw (not Poland) based orthopedics maker Zimmer has announced layoffs.
Globally, that's about 5 percent of the company's workforce.
A spokesman says Zimmer initiated changes in it's work force to "support strategic positions."
