Thread regarding Amdocs layoffs

Amdocs is emptying its Charlotte Office of the IT staff that supports DIRECTV's information systems and its Billing systems. This is NOT an impact of an economic slow down as the IT staff all have plenty of work and work is scheduled for software releases over the next coming 6 to 10 months, with more from DIRECTV in the pipe-line. The work is being moved to Pune (Puna) in INDIA for the sole reason that the worker's salaries are really low (60% less at least) and there are no health care costs. However, DIRECTV does not benefit from the lowered costs as it will lose business knowledge and quality assurance from a long time vendor (15 years). American workers are being punished for simply being successful. Another greedy 'American' company destroys the USA's tax base and creates a bigger burden on welfare, all for the sake of saving $500,000 and ripping off a 'valued' customer. The awful severance pay is a lousy one week per year, maximum of 10 weeks.
