Greetings,
Cengage Unlimited has been an unmitigated success, not an unlitigated success. Since we now live in a ruleless land where tech bros are allowed to ride their skateboards to any agency and wreak havoc, the educated among us are trying to silence the enlightened.
February 3 has come and gone. Proving that these unsubstantiated claims are a "nothing burger" of (possibly Russian) disinformation.
Full Stop!
A hearing will be conducted by the court on February 26, 2025, at 3:00 PM ET. This hearing will determine whether to approve the settlement and will also address requests related to attorney's fees and representative awards.

Wayne Weiten says hello
Cengage has been buying out authors already for millions. If I recall, this doesn't even equal the buyout for one of their largest authors.
I cant believe the settlement wasnt more $$$.
I’ve been with the company for 17 years and no one came to visit me after my accident! Just heartless.
"This was leaked and the C-Suite is pi---d. Jobs are going to be lost over this and not just at the top. Mark my words, lots of changes by February 3rd."
this is public information.
Hehe, no surprises here. Authors everywhere have been unhappy with their publisher - oh excuse me, EdTech delivery company - ever since this goofy idea was announced. I was working with a competitor when this rolled out and the reaction within schools was pretty hilarious. Hours after a big splashy event with a local Psych department, the Chair told me "we all agreed that this scheme could benefit Cengage but we couldn't figure out how it might benefit us and our students." With Unlimited, Cengage managed to cannibalize its own revenue base and nothing more. Typical of this shoddy leadership team . . .

Oh, how I remember the unlimited bull$hit. All the people in leadership roles were pushing it so hard and yet no one could tell us how the maths were gonna math. It’s like they’re trying to create a case study on what not to do as a publishing company.
I remember top Cengage Unlimited project drivers pushing “this isn’t a finance project, implement and worry about finance later”.
But what is 20 million to the Netflix for education
