Handing out money to insure technology independence for America. It's going to be hilarious when the government finally figures out that Intel don't make chips for cars, trucks or household consumer products.

O.P here: "Insure" means to protect something against loss or damage by taking out an insurance policy, (American Fabs) essentially focusing on financial protection against risk. The last time the Government funded a manufacturing project, the Green Energy by Van Jones and Dr. Chu under Obama, it went bankrupt. Solar Energy was captured by China. Only First Solar survived. The rest went out of business after taking the taxpayers money.
Crony capitalism is destroying the country and we will be bankrupt soon enough. In China at least everyone knows the corruption is the culture.
Intel should be more creative and alert to the current trending in new technology.
Relying on chip act is like a ho-o asking for tax payers to give them a temporary home. Started in 2021, Portland city asks tax payers to pay city tax to support the homeless. Is this very similar to chip act?
As a US taxpayer and former INTC investor I don't find any of this hilarious at all.
As the saying goes water seeks its own level, Intel and the government were made for each other.

Intel dabbles in (IOT) as a hobby but never a key player in anything but PC and data center chips and they are not needed in Cars and trucks. America's economic security does not rely on another flavor of laptops or data center chips.
