I left in March (corporate) , no new job & tool the biggest leap of faith.
My mental health has soared! I started a small..very small business, got unemployment (mental health records were needed), sell stuff on ebay & this year be content working at a restaurant or something.
The way my mental health has changed does not calidate my former income.
Yes..scary but i literally feel alive again.
10yrs. The company just hasnt implemented real Change or Growth. It just keeps sinking. My plan B is getting back into logistics. Longer hours...but a 10th of the work in a more secure industry. So it balances out.
Going back to school in a different field so there’s really no point in sticking with retail as I’ll be looking for working experience in said field. Either way, still wouldn’t transfer to another store since the closest ones are 30+ min away (not counting rush hour traffic) and having been to those other stores, meeting some of the managers, and hearing from coworkers’ experiences who worked there before…doesn’t sound like a fun time over at those stores…
Everybody who leaves comes crawling back to Macy’s.
Most people just retire
After almost 25 years it’s just time to move on-obviously things are only going to get worse, not better, I do miss the old days, but they’re gone for good, times have changed.
