Thread regarding Boeing Co. layoffs

H1 visa suppose to be capped at 80k, instead it’s over 800k

H1 visa program is supposed to be capped at only 80,000 people. Instead employers brought in over 800,000 people with that program.

Companies like bowling simply don’t want to hire US citizens so they can hire a visa holder or open a design center someplace else cheaper.

Extremely disappointed that none of the US presidents have ever addressed the abuse of this visa system.

There is a whole cottage industry of Attorneys with questionable ethics that help H1b's skirt the rules when they get laid-off so they can stay in the US. The laid-off H1b has 60 days to find an equivalent job, or they must leave the US. Most don't leave with help they pay the Attorneys specializing in how to game the H1B visa process.
