Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

RTO would be a rotten cherry on top of spoiled cake

Only one good thing can come out of it - it would force me to finally part ways with rapidly degenerating Fiserv.

@2wqa+1wdoM9Ax you sound like someone with no options in their life. Good luck. You don't believe you can do better in this world, but remember that God loves you.

“ Don’t get me started on how most of the remotes are the most knowledgeable”

Not enough laugh emojis in the world for this…

Amazes me how many people don’t understand that the majority of remote folks were hired that way or ‘forced’ to be so by Fiserv closing their offices as part of the cost saving effort of reducing bricks and mortor. My current RTO would be a relocation, not going to happen, or a 300 mile one way commute, again not going to happen.
Don’t get me started on how most of the remotes are the most knowledgeable and still keeping things together despite their numbers rapidly reducing.

If you don't want to hear their whining, maybe they should stay out of earshot - by working at home.

No. There’s no way around RTO so these “astronauts” need to be brought back to Earth so to speak. We need to be in the office so they do too. I don’t want to hear their whining.

I was hired as a remote tech in 2022. Then they started with going in 3 days a week. No swipe out. My schedule allowed me to continue to work from home as I was on call and worked night shift. About every 6 months they put the sc--ws to you. They have su-ked any joy out of the job. I would give them 10 hours a day if I could just work from home without the black cloud over my head. I refuse to sit in traffic for 2 hours so I am insubordinate everyday .... Not knowing when your number is up. That is no way to live.

@ymw+1wdoM9Ax I will never understand this concept of "I am getting sc--wed by my boss so it's only fair that everyone else gets sc--wed by theirs" instead of "I am getting sc--wed by my boss and other people are not; my boss should stop sc--wing me"

You should strive to be lifted up with your peers, not have them torn down

GTH - many of us have been back in an office for years. What makes you so special that you should be exempt?

Frankserv does not care about you or your family. You will accept whatever hours they throw at us. You will accept the minimal raises. You will accept sapience. You are part of the zombie workforce at Frankserv! Time to exit the meaningless existence at Frankserv for something better.

Fiserv return to office for nine hours plus per day plus your daily commute is not family friendly. It's like Fiserv says to is give your soul and let me crush it. O time for family with Fiserv.

Our RTO policy is what it is and there is unlikely to be a change for a more hybrid approach with anyone associated with our Executive Leadership or Board. I have been in the office since 2021, and maintained an opinionated position that WFH 1-2 times a week helps with work/life balance, reduces expenses with additional commute, and general good morale hygiene.

These positions no longer hold up, and so i too must move on. I have no place to defend someone who is complaining about finally having to come into the office.

2025 is a year for changes and I have hope that we can find good ones. But I am not going all in on that. Dust off your resume, practice interviewing.

If you are thinking of leaving and you are incentive eligible, then turn your notice in after March 2nd. This ensures you get health benefits for the full month and with our stock grant policy, you leave the least on the table.

That is a big call out. This latest bone headed move by Frankserv feels very much like the pivotal point where the degeneration of the company, particularly the culture, has gone past the breaking point. It was already in steady decline, but this feels very different. I don’t care how much this executive “leadership” team thinks they are so great based on the stock, the foundation is rotten to the core. No amount of gaslighting keeps this afloat and the near term is going to be ugly.

As someone that has to be in ofc five days a week I think it’s only fair that everyone come back five days a week.
