Thread regarding CVS layoffs

Don't waste your time here

The only reason I'm still holding on to this job is that I'm about to retire within a year. If you are any younger, don’t let yourself get stuck here. I've witnessed the decline of a decent company, one where you could have had a somewhat satisfying career, to its current state, which offers no future. Compared to my generation, you have the advantage of being fully aware of this fact, allowing you to decide not to waste years just trying to hold on to this job when better opportunities are out there.

Applying for jobs is a whole new ballgame than it was 5 years ago.
I am getting interviews, but had a resume written and linkedin optimization.

The problems in getting interviews are mass resumes in the hundreds being sent to one role. We are competing with consultants for permanent roles, as well as fake applicants (read bots).

Try looking for local jobs that need your skillset. Try non profits. Try compani3s in the healthcare contracting space.

I'd love to know where these opportunities are. I'm on the aetna side at the midpoint of my career and there is nothing at my salary out there. And go where? Another insurer with the same problems. My only hope is a career change. I started applying just for interview practice in case of a layoff and I have gotten zero interviews.

The tricky part is not so many better opportunities are out there. If you've tried applying for jobs now, you'd know how incredibly hard it is just to land an interview.
