Well folks, we are a little more than a week away from returning to North Belt. There is also speculation this will trickle over to other facilities as well. How many people have already quit, gave notice, are looking, plan to quit, etc? I am just curious if people have just accepted it, or if they plan to give them what they wanted with this Stealth Layoff.

People aren’t quitting they just aren’t showing up. Half the desks empty around me around 1pm
Yep. 2025 market is expected to be flat according to Hal analysts. That’s the market. Hal work is mostly transactional and the OFS space is highly competitive. Flat market is a down year Hal.
They need you to quit. Just fly into the light like they want you to.
Make no doubt about it, they want you to be frustrated by this and quit or leave without having to pay severence

It is quite hilarious that someone from corporate is monitoring this thread and down voting everything.
Yep. Lots of empty seats where I sit. Sporadic appearances from some, one or two days last week. Also heard that some groups didn't get space assignments, so they don't have to come to the office. So much for RTO for all.
Walking around the campus I’m seeing lot of empty seats. Seems like lot of people aren’t coming into office 5 days a week. Is this okay, how are they keeping track? Just near where I sit I noticed 5 people out of 15-18 not there today.
Lang’s email was notifying the global business development staff that a survey would be coming out related to “BDs skillsets to win bids, tenders, etc.” the survey was a gut punch and a finger pointing game as to why Marketshare is at an all time low. BD is only about 10 percent why we are losing Marketshare. The other 90 percent is related to how difficult we are to work with, how high we are, how we don’t listen and respond to customers, how we don’t want to pay up when it’s our fault, how many clowns we have working for us that customers have to deal with, how we try to pull MOCs anytime something is a little bit out of the norm, how many execs we have skimming off the top and have no interaction with our customers etc. The spiral downward is because we are no longer creating value in the customers eyes. Everyone is just internally focused. It’s truly crazy.
I’m right here. My last day was Jan 6th. Complete coincidence that it was also RTO day ;) . My boss didnt even make me come in Monday. 16 years with the company and I’m glad they forced my hand. I needed something to push me to the breaking point. Now I am doing a very similar position in O&G making $15k more per year with a heavy bonus and only going into the office for bigger meetings a few times a month. The only reason more aren’t leaving is because they don’t have other options. I however did. Later gator.
Where are the claims of victory from everyone that said they would be leaving for a remote job that their superior talent entitled them to? I guess you all filed into the office this week after dealing with traffic. Hilarious that people on here were suggesting emailing Jeff Miller as if that would make a difference.
Congratulations on a smooth first week of our full campus return!
Out of curiosity, what was in the email?
Not sure if it’s related to RTO, but North America business development seems to be in a major bind. Reps are quitting like crazy. This will inevitably lead to lower NAL revenue, which Wall Street will love to hear….on another note, it’s laughable that the greater organization believes RTO is going to drive a better business and still believes sales is the problem, as noted by Lang’s email today. It’s sad that they don’t realize it’s a systemic cultural problem and the enemy is looking in the mirror. Gotta wake up if this ship is going to be saved.
First day has been great, got to see all the smiley faces that have not been seen in awhile Got to stand at the coffee breakroom for hours end and ask how:s it been, how's the mental health, how's the family. Meanwhile some of the dead stone weights have decided to cast themselves to the sea never to return feeling like their privilege was stripped from them.
How was first day back for everyone? Good? Bad? Ok?
"For all CEOs’ talk of “culture” and “collaboration” and “creativity,” there may be another reason some of them want their employees to return to the office: tax breaks."

The whole thing is BS, we've been running fine and dandy the past 5 years without being in the office full time.
Helpppp, don’t want to go back to the office. I’ve confirmed with a buddy that someone from his team who lives slightly outside of Houston is getting to work from home still. What kind of BS is that and is there a way I can do something like that? How can they be selective on the few that get to work from home still. Totally not fair!!!

Ha I’m not going back. They’re letting me work from home.
Just back to how it was prior to the COVID. Core hours. Now make sure you get those hours in. And don’t pay attention to your market cap vs. Baker. They’re cleaning your clocks.
No choice but to deal with it for now. Will be looking for another hybrid/remote role but they are becoming more rare these days unfortunately. Maybe when economy picks back up companies will offer more flexibility again to attract talent when job market improves.
I’ve heard this is going to other facilities as well in the new year. I also know certain people who will be exempt from this policy. The most inept people seem to be coddled by this organization.
Gas, meals, tolls, car repairs, car wear, daycare, flexible hours, etc., are all going to be impacted negatively. This is the price that those coming back to work are going to have to deal with. I guess that those who really need a job will come. Those who can afford to wait at home for a new job may not.
