Thread regarding Dish Network layoffs

Any layoffs coming in February 2025?

Heard some news that after Dish gets its Q4 results in Feb 2nd week, there's going to be mass layoffs. Is that true?

There has been a big layoff today in the Dish markets with the site development people. Many of the smaller markets will be down to just one site development person. Unless the sales tick up, it is not going to be a Boost much longer.

Who's left to layoff??

They love to use the performance appraisals to cut heads without laying off. It's a horrible process, given that only a certain amount of people can get exceeds expectations, even though more may deserve it.

If an employee is let go due to bad performance that is different than being laid off. I don't understand the previous statement.

Time of year when all the Performance Appraisals are completed and ready to be launched at the employees... Convenient point for separations...

There are already some restructuring happening on the executive leadership roles, to focus more on the retails and operations side. As a side effect to this, there's a chance that some teams focusing on the network side might let go soon.

If they don't lay you off, they will find a reason or make up one to let you go.

The guy who posted the article claiming DISH paid their debt posted an article from November still highlighting the now dead DTV merger. Are DISH employees really this delusional? The company is dying and you are being lied to and believing every word

The people shilling for DISH here are the H-1B visa holders who work in the sweatshop DISH runs at corporate. No more DISH and it’s going to be tough to get another sponsor so they like to make up things to feel better about their situation

Here is an article. Dish still has millions of customers. Enron? Totally different.

“The Enron scandal was a series of events involving dubious accounting practices that resulted in the 2001 bankruptcy“ -https://www.britannica.com/event/Enron-scandal

Being a Fortune500 does not mean a company cannot go under -- take Enron, for example. And where are those articles that state the debt is paid off? An online search shows nothing. You may want use your time to line up a new job instead of shilling for Dish.

Dish has not said anything publicly about layoffs. Dish has its debt paid off and is a Fortune 500 company. Dish is good. Dish has paid of debt for the next couple of years according to recent articles.
