Thread regarding Macy's Inc. layoffs

I hope my store is on the closings list

I don’t want to lose my job, but it’s frustrating that only a handful of us in the entire store actually do any work. The rest spend their days staring at their phones, chatting, and ignoring everything that needs to be done and they keep getting away with it! I’m beyond tired of covering for inconsiderate a--holes every single day. Honestly, I’d love to see them lose their jobs. I can’t imagine they’d get away with this kind of behavior anywhere else.

No, the Company is ridiculous.
Ppl wanting to prepare for the worst is fairly normal. You must be an SMM? Youre even policing "worry" with the trademark Toxic Positivity of Macys.

Sorry, no $35M dollar door in GA is on the list. Its Gwinnett Place, Northlake and Gwinnett Furniture Gallery. AND, with multiple doors in ATL market, somewhat nearby, an offer of a similar position at a close door will negate the severance. If you want out, just go. You will find your way.

I PRAY my store closes. Been with the company 10yrs and its only gotten worse. Id much rather have my severance than to continously do the job of 3ppl. Im the sole Visual Associate for a large $35M store in GA. Im exhausted every day. And theres NO support for any department. Just pull the plug and let us go!!

Sounds like 487! Even the store manager stands around seeming “important” on his phone!

That’s every store, and sadly they’ll just get transferred to another location and do the same thing

80 is on the TBD list, so it wouldn’t be for least 2yrs unless sales/profits drastically decline.
