Don’t think about work, don’t even consider doing any. Just focus on your family. With all the stress we’ve been under lately, every one of us deserves a day or two off, outside of the weekends, to unplug and forget Dell even exists. Merry Christmas, everyone!

I'd love to not do any work, or even think about work this week. Unfortunately my time off request for this (submitted Jan 6th, the first day requests for this year were allowed to be submitted) week was denied. I was even voluntold to work late on christmas eve and informed that due to work we're shirt staffed on Jan 1st so I'll be working that day too.

I always volunteered to help cover for my finance team during the xmas days (which were supposed to be corp holidays) because someone needed to be around for sales and deals. I never took long vacations in December to avoid inconveniencing my colleagues. I always stepped up for my manager to run the shop for their long trips. What did it get me? WFR in the summer after 20+ years when they collapsed my department in with a similar org.
