Intel's problems are with its culture and methodologies. Industry leaders know this already. The only way to make it work would be to release everyone and start from scratch. The task would be monumental. The value in Intel right now is the buildings, the equipment, and any IP that isn't already obsolete. Private equity vultures will pick apart the remains. They will squeeze every last dime out of Intel before they walk away rich. Meanwhile, the remaining Intel employees will be cast aside.

Then he is definitely looking at buying Intel. Whoever protests the loudest is actually looking to buy. Otherwise he would have said no comment or some platitude about Intel being a great and historical company etc... Oh boy, Hock is coming!!

Semicon experts completely understand Intel's troubles. The main problem is the employees can't get the job done. The Intel technology and patents are quickly becoming irrelevant in the future age of AI and Quantum computing... No other semi company will acquire Intel assets - they will strategically hand-pick the best people that remain at Intel and hire them away. Intel becomes weaker and less competent and eventually bankrupt.

Who would want to buy Intel?
It’s such a boat anchor of debt, high capex, bad culture and really bad management.

BTW. Regardless of what you think of him, Hock knows how to pump up his business. "AI Powerhouse". Brilliant! Once AI calms down, he'll be on to the next, however rumor has it, he'll be retiring within a few years. Not a "fun" person to work for, but the RSUs seem to smooth out the masses, as they live under the constant fear of release from the company. Quite the dynamic. Intel's core dynamic/culture needs to change too. This is the root of it's cancer

Hock requires distressed cash cows. Intel only meets the distressed part. Nice poke in the AI there :)
