Thread regarding Commscope Inc. layoffs

Lack of drive for change

At CommScope, there’s little push to make things better or even try new ideas. People are stuck in their ways, and the truth is, there’s no real energy for progress. With this approach, the company is guaranteed to fail over time. Not that anyone cares, of course.

This will not sit well with some. However, impact changes that you can impact through others at your level, below your level, and try above (which I know can be like pushing a rope). Contact your Tech, Engineer, Supervisor, or Manager and see if they can help you. Granted, you must be very careful when going up. There can be some serious back-side lashings, the person takes credit for your idea, or as one person said below you end up on a PIP, but we need to be striving for what we believe is in Commscope’s best interest. I know from personal experience you can receive a “but chewing” by doing this but at least mention it to the people you trust that will not “stab you in the back”.

Good luck! Oh, and even though it is frowned upon now, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

A lot of our technology stack has been 'McGyvered' over the years in attempt to fit now mostly outdated and obsolete processes. This has been negatively impacting the business and its customers. Leadership needs to fine tune our architecture, tools and revisit all processes.
