Can we put whoever compiles the layoff list at the top of the next one? It’s painfully clear they have no idea what they’re doing. How else do you explain us losing some of our best employees in every single round? Someone needs to step in and fix this mess.

There are two ways to avoid layoffs. Meet all statistical criteria’s … age, salary, ethnicity. Meet all brown nosing criteria’s and hope your boss does the same. Performance is not part of the criteria, that’s just an exercise to bolster second way.
Optum needs to take a page from Trump’s playbook. Get rid of all of the duplicate departments and excess. How many directors and associate directors are needed to oversee a provider's performance? How many training teams create the same type of materials that are pushed onto providers at an unrelenting pace? Then Optum has the brilliance to lay off actual clinical staff that care for their patients. Where is the business sense there? Pi---d of providers and uncared for patients.
It’s all to do with cost, and who your boss favors. Lots of platform it got impacted. Great talented people. Lots of security people have been run out by bosses, reported snd left, or forced to toe the line… they left, breaches occurred. Look at the egos some of the svp talent has. A steady ship will come soon.
The clinical services vp actually told everyone she thought the personnel made phone calls all day. Talk about having no clue. Now they want chart reviews done in 5 minutes. Would you want your service reviewed in a couple of minutes.
It’s above the GL32 levels needing to hit their numbers. Just like annual rating is done by the numbers and overall rating for merit and bonuses are done by managers thoughts and feeling of the employee at that moment, same methodology is applied to rifted employees… not much thoughts. I remember one year we had a keynote employee speaker, a combat veteran on Veterans Day and a day later he was laid off. The only thing that counts around here is whether you have a cost center, and you have funding. If you don’t have either of those you’re gone and those underneath gets traded to other leaders or rifted.
They simply do not care. Most have no idea what the individual employee or team does. They're just weilding the power and thankful it's not them, this time.
The list generation is outsourced.
It’s on purpose. Sometimes the system works and the best people with the most experience are well paid. Well, when they cut cost they’re included in the RIF.
And then the company will run interference and pretend to care about quality by making it look like it’s the fault of employees left holding the scraps that things don’t work.
