Just saw that we hired a VP of AI. Worked at Exxon and Chevron. Employees to be replaced by AI?

Met some Chevron and Exxon people at a conference. Sounds like she is a fraud.
Self-promoting lady of course puts more recognition on LinkedIn about how she was awarded something by the CEO. For what? What has she done?
WFt or WTF
Met some chevron people at external events for AI, and none of them have even heard of SK. It would seem like she conflated her resume to get this job at weatherford.
@1crw The entire WFRD approach is reactive and self promoting. In itself, they are not an AI company. They don’t have the data scientists or the rest of the team to create much of anything. They are consumers of the tech. Ya they may be able to leverage AWS or Infosys for a lot of things that sound good, but pull back the covers and the SMEs aren’t there to ensure what is delivered is of value. They will forever be a curve fitting, some ML camp with limited ability to deliver true insights that they profess to be able to do with thei AI partnerships.
SK posts a lot of junk on LinkedIn. Self-promoter with zero substance. Weatherford layoffs should take care of that. What a waste of our opex on this overhead.
SK just got named top 50 data change maker of the energy sector and I have not seen her actually deliver or do anything besides external engagements.
How do people swindle their way into VP roles like this
Thought travel was suspended…and yet there’s travel, expensive new hires, but also layoffs happening.
Saw that she went on a trip to the Middle East on the company and participated on a panel, talking about a topic she knows nothing about
Met her.. knows nothing about AI. No substance at all. Not sure how one can jump through jobs pretending there’s any expertise and getting these roles. Says a lot about the hiring committee.
We are all safe!
