Too few managers to grow this company

Sundar Pichai shared updates about the company's ongoing efforts to improve efficiency. The tech giant has reduced its management positions by 10%, affecting roles at the manager, director, and vice president levels.

With the recent TEBG re org, we seem to have more VPs who will no doubt contribute to real organic growth by arranging more meetings, making more fancy ppt slide decks, make more strat plans and prioritization meetings.

Don't worry amigo! The new SVP of R&D in CBG (that was hired by Karina), will solve all of 3M's problems. A few more hires like her will do 3M good. Nepotism is the way to go.

That's just silly. Of course there are executives who have championed and driven new businesses. I've seen it happen recently (well, 2 years ago). And other times for sure.

In my 20 plus years working for this enterprise across multiple divisions, I am yet to come across a single executive who has actually been involved in incubating a new business and contributing to organic growth !

Have you ???
