It’s becoming really tiresome. If there were a prospect of a decent raise or advancement, and if it were temporary, then fine. But I’m overworked and getting nothing in return. Well, not exactly. I get the chance to be laid off at the first opportunity.

What overtime? There is no overtime when you are doing what you love. Only not enough hours in a day.
I hope more people start working 40 hours a week. That leaves autists like me to learn more and expand our presence. Let us build the world and we'll take the satisfaction of you using what we make.
It can be exhausting to constantly push yourself, especially as the holiday season approaches. It's crucial to prioritize mental-health, family, self-care, and joy. Sacrificing your time and forgoing Christmas PTO for work, particularly when it goes unappreciated, isn't sustainable. Without a clear prospect of a raise or advancement, pushing yourself to the limit only leads to burnout. Take a few days off this holiday season to recharge. Focus on what truly matters and give yourself the much-needed break you deserve.
Bye-bye Bye-bye 👋 👋 👋
‘South Indian would be more appropriate
OP you better work your @$$ off so that the Indian managers can steal your work and make you redundant‘
"The work will be there the next day."
sadly, you may not
that is what happens when you flood the labor force to lower costs
the labor (you) are dispensable even though you probably are more useful
than the people laying you off who cost twice as much
"OP you better work your @$$ off so that the Indian managers can steal your work and make you redundant"
yup that's the saying, you aren't working hard enough if they have nothing to steal

Reading this thread, a few things are apparent.
- Qualcomm values employees as they would cockroaches, despite what their public facing PR states.
- Eventually, your function will be eliminated, or off-shored.
- Until, then sit down, work your 50+ hrs a week, and shut up.
- No holiday bliss for the commoners, only Exec team.
- Qualcomm, does not care that their reputation as a top tier employer is trashed.
"Exempt" employees, which engineers typically are, have no protection.
What is really sad is that so many believe that nothing will happen to you if you insist on no more than 40 hours per week. There is no law that will protect you. This is why there are unions - which employers hate. No, your job might NOT be there the next day.
What is really sad about the post and the ensuing comments is the sense of hopelessness and blaming. Qualcomm doesn’t not appreciate dedication, hard work, or sacrifice when they are cutting budgets. They will lay you off no matter how much of yourself you have given to your job. It’s not appreciated. You are not required to work more than 40 hours. Detach yourself and go home. The work will be there the next day.
Are you a XX chromosome OP? I've found they're the ones that complain/brag about how much work they have.
OP is a slave like so many others.
Everything is a bubble, the difference is the lifespan of the bubble. some last days, others years, and others centuries. All you need to figure out is when to jump off before the bubble pops! Diversification makes millionaires, Concentration makes billionaires!
"OP, you get a bunch of RSUs regularly. Invest them at vest on brcm, nvda at 30% gains per year. Recalculate your annual income and you'll be a happy man"
poor soul hasn't figured out yet that there is a giant bubble in the stock market because the US printed too much money and it had to go somewhere
well easy come easy go

Did you not get the memo??? The beatings will continue until morale improves. Do we care how you feel?
