7K down, 20K….MORE are left?

“So far in 2024, Citi’s employees have already had to cope with a workforce reduction of 7,000 employees; and over 20,000 further jobs are set to be cut by 2026.”

I was at Citi for several years and all I can say is get the he-l out of that place. Other employers are paying competitive wages with matching time off. Stop wasting your money on prescriptions for mental health care and get some actual sleep at night knowing you’re not being judged by incompetent management who’s trying to save their own jobs by forcing you out. Citi really is a horror of a company.

Let it motivate you. Its all by design. A bell curve that’s flexible, sometimes inverse but adjustable to be recurve if needed….blah….blah…blah….its all designed to confuse and frustrate you so you give up and seek employment elsewhere. Honestly use it, leave. Other companies are in fact paying more. Use this as motivational fuel to go elsewhere for more money. You can pick just about any company and get paid either the same or more. Citi is not spectacular on pay and benefits no matter how hard they try to sell that it is.

I find it odd that Jane has made sure that Citi pay and benefits are average at best but try just as hard to sell that its much much more.

as a C14 team leader of 12 staff I can verify that the forced bell curve is very much in use at Citigroup. That is such meetings in the last month it was 'suggested' to me that I need to reconsider how I ranked my team. That I need to get my scorecard below the 30% threshold, not I was not permitted to rank my team as above average, We are.
