More Death in Texas . . . nothing to see here

Tough two weeks in Texas, if you are a school kid or a railroad employee . . . move along, nothing to see here.

Hold up, before claiming UP needs to foot the bill for ramps, over passes, etc ask one question, were the railroad tracks there first? I in no fashion support ‘socialized’ costs and privatized profits. But right is right, if the railroad was there first it is the burden of whatever or whoever builds around or close to those tracks to fund whatever is needed where they chose to build. I get sick of the mentality of people who do things like buy a house close to tracks then complain about the noise. I do think UP should hire and retain more rr police to protect UP employees and property and to patrol against all instances of trespassing.

Up needs to build a walkway over tracks, so kids can walk to school safely. Up needs to be a good neighbor in the communities that they serve. If metal part of truck was stuck on tracks at the crossing , it should have made red track light signals to alert train. Also if in ctc area , metal part of stuck truck should have shown a track indicator light on dispatcher screen, to show that something was on the tracks.

Any bets as to whether or not this train was rushed out by the management teams? This train in the video that's all over social media was moving! Unfortunately, it'll be the same outcome as every other huge derailment. Management will find everyone that had anything to do with that train, then try to blame them for the accident. Yes the truck was blocking the track, but how long was that truck stuck there before it got hit. What phone calls were made, how many calls were made, and how many went unanswered before someone finally answered the phone? Either way, this accident isn't going to help the UP image whatsoever!
