Thread regarding Broadcom Corp. layoffs

ESG below the line of DOOM again. Are we safe ?

I'm worried. How long can we even last in Broadcom ?

ESG -4*%

It seems all listed conversation indicating something big is going to happen in ESG.

It seems inevitable and it seems it is more layoffs.
More worry :(

I think probably what's more important than LOD is how are your all your BU's metrics vs. AOP, i.e. what was your BU bonus multiplier? If your BU bonus multiplier was in the tank then your GM will have to either add a ton of revenue or make big cuts next yr

As Babe in the Marathon Man said, "Yes, it’s very safe, it’s so safe you wouldn’t believe it."

Even if they want to sell who will buy this product line ? I heard they couldn't sell CB, that's why it merged to Symantec. if no one wants to buy this combined sh-t, then what's the next step? Until that ESG BU folks can keep collecting RSUs, its win win situation.

Has this board become an ESG-oh-no board exclusively? The way it works if you are below the 'line of doom' for too many quarters, meaning you are not growing profits quarter--to-quarter, is simple: you'll be sold to some entity because "one man's garbage is another's treasure" and only profitable divisions are treasures to the _conglomerate_ known as Broadcom. If no buyer, divestment - same thing, division goes away. Keep in mind it is the DIVISION leadership calling all the shot, they have enormous discretion to run their business in their own way to make profit targets (why they're called 'franchises'), so it is not EVIL AVGO making whatever moves leading to layoffs or poor financial performance, it is your own former-now-acquired company leadership deciding who stays, goes, and their own business plans.

Safe for a couple of years is good enough. We can happily retire by then
