I’ve recently gotten conflicting information on sabbatical payouts. If you voluntarily leave with an accrued sabbatical on the clock, you forfeit that time…right?! I have heard of people who left Intel for a new job and still got paid for their sabbatical (not CA-based).

If sabbatical time is fully accrued Intel paid you for it in your last paycheck. This applies for all US states Intel employees people in.
A few states require Intel to pay for not fully accrued sabbatical and vacation time like CA, MA, RI, etc.
Intel misled you what else is new. F this place
Arizona doesn’t get the payout for this benefit we earned. Intel sc--ws us over at every opportunity. Smart to try to keep the 60% that didn’t get paid to leave.
It states in the employee handbook that accrued sabbatical will be paid out if you leave the company. What they don't say is the payout is based on each week being 5 days instead of 7 days.
So if you have a 4 week accrued if you take it you would get 2 full paychecks. When they pay it out you get less than 2 full paychecks.
You get paid for partially accrued sabbatical in CA.
If you had eligibility to take a sabbatical when you left (4 week or 8 week), it got paid out. You don’t get paid out, in many/most states for partial accrual of weeks.
I retired in Oregon and got sabbatical payout
OP, why would sabbatical not get paid out of local laws allow? It's just like any other accrued time. It doesn't matter whether you leave involuntarily or voluntarily.
sorry. I took retirement package
I thought sabatical is considered accrued time
I got paid for my sabatical but I’m in cali
