My leadership has all said if you are hybrid you must go in 5 days a week come January so I'm not even debating that here, it's old news in my org. What I am curious about are the workers we have who live in states with no office or closed down offices. They have all be remote long before the pandemic stuff and some of them are absolute SMEs so it would su-k to lose them. Has anyone heard anything on what will be done with them? My guess is that it's still being decided but that's just a guess steming from the lack of transparency.

they will mandate that hybrid workers are no longer needed. Return to the Office, or find another place to work.
They are following the Amazon model. And that is EXACTLY what Amazon is doing. MSD and Bezos are friends, they want to be alike and handle their company the same.
So if you are Remote right now, or Hybrid right now. And you DO NOT have an office nearby within a couple hour drive, you will have two options. Get an Air B&B near the office for the week, Move, or find another place to work... oh that's three options, see your options are growing.
MSD cares not about YOU, he cares about the bottom line, and that is the mandate....
I work in HR EMEA, and we know nothing more than anyone else. Even the BS mandate, we found out just before you did along with the sales leaders.
When there is an new announcement I expect the same short notification.
Sales remote employees are to carry on as normal. Everyone that doesn't report up to BS, including sales support, are to be back 5 days in their closest office.
EMEA is much more complicated that US, each country has their own laws and this mandate cannot be inforced as easily. When everyone was given the choice of remote or hybrid with the stipulation if you went remote you could no longer be promoted and so on. This did not apply to Dell employees outside North America due to local laws.
The only actual mandate came from sales and only for hybrid. So far. Ask your HR and they dodge it because there is no official mandate for anyone else to go back 5 days. Org leaders are forcing it themselves so MD sees it not because they have to. There has been no mandate for RTO other than hybrid sales. The mail from Scannell said remotes would hear in the coming weeks.... it's now months. Bully boy tactics to force butts on seats.
Ig anyone actually knows it's being kept a solid secret, I'm sure one of the 10 rumors of varying all fired to slow phasing out to 6months to move, has some truth in it somewhere. But no emails or policy changes have been mentioned firmly.
The only people due back 5 days is sales, no changes for anyone else
