They’ve destroyed our team with layoffs, and we lost some of our best people. I don’t get the logic behind any of this. Now we’re hearing more layoffs are likely next year... I don’t even know what to think anymore. We can’t afford to lose anyone else, we’ve already lost too many. Whoever thinks this is a good idea needs to step into our shoes for a day and see what we’re dealing with.

Leadership logic is to move most positions to India (ironically, even there they hire at lower salaries, so quality is exactly what they’re paying for) and implement SAP everywhere ("to automate... what a joke"). It’s as simple as that. Your team, my team, the people—none of it matters to them, no matter how often they repeat otherwise in their scripted town halls.
So yes, expect more layoffs—they are inevitable. Don’t stress too much because there’s no real way to prevent it. Hard work won’t save you. Just focus on preparing yourself as much as possible to be ready to jump ship.
What you can lot afford to do is wait!! Get your resume ready and find another job.
Cargill’s actions show that it does not care about its people so don’t waste your emotional capital in a place that does not value it.
If they don’t care, why should we. They are trying to appear to cut costs and act in control but it will all fall apart, watch out for surge in hiring requests and contractors, when they said they would not do that
