It sounds like a toxic workplace strategy where a company is intentionally making employees’ lives difficult to push them out rather than laying them off directly. This kind of behavior—forcing employees into impossible situations, setting them up for failure, and isolating them—is often referred to as "managing out" or "quiet firing."
If this is happening to you or someone you know, some possible actions to consider:
Document everything:
Keep records of assigned work, deadlines, delays caused by management, and any unreasonable expectations.
Reach out to HR (carefully):
If the company has an HR department that can be trusted, consider raising concerns, but be aware that HR primarily protects the company.
Look for legal options:
In some regions, such practices might violate labor laws, especially if they’re linked to discrimination or an attempt to deny vested compensation.
Network externally:
If the environment is unbearable, it might be time to explore other job opportunities where your skills are valued.
Mostly they targeted employees who joined in 2022 and had significant stock vesting in 2025-26 + upcoming bonus. Racist people who think they are doing a service !!!

yes there was a layoff in the company on 12th Dec. I was affected by that layoff. I heard about ~150 people were let go with immediate effect. My laptop was disconnected right after the meeting.

Seems as old timers are hit. I would love to hear Jayshree's hollow words on "family" now. Families dont back stab each other. I always wanted to say to Jayshree that if you do not know what happening with my family, then i dont care who your daughter married or want to see her in-laws pictures. She did what Chambers used to do at Cisco.
Awesome people let go as Arista wants to outsource services. As soon as way-past-their-sell-by-date Sameer Padhye and Chia Tan join services we see this. As Cisco-discards they only are a one trick pony?
I wonder why these unimaginative folks who want to mimic what Cisco wants to do in services have to be lead Arista? Cisco is planning on outsourcing Cx to infosys, wipro etc and this is the same model Arista now follows.
The folks who made Arista are being let go as word has it that the CxO suite did not want them to vest their stocks. Andy was caught in an insider trading scam and Jayshree is the richest woman in tech - how much money is enough? and why is it that when the average joe makes a buck you stab them? I think the message is that we can become rich you cannot. Recently there were internal presentations on how average salaries across Arista were very high when you add in the stock options. Message to Arista, your actual salaries are not all that great..infact you are worst of the big vendors. Why use the success these employees created to scr*w them over.
Welcome to Arista where the Cisco hunger games just took root!
There have been layoffs. Brutal. Right before Christmas. Snap announcement with immediate effect - most managers knew nothing about it. A group from outside the company was brought in to inform of cuts - no one even had time to say goodbye to colleagues. New executive management from outside top-down decision - lots of absolutely great high achieving people let go. Probably there's a race to AI and cuts to support financing in that direction.
