Boeing Plans $1 Billion Expansion of South Carolina 787 Facility

Scott Stocker, Vice President and General Manager of the 787 Program and BSC Site Leader, offered comment. He emphasized the significance of this expansion. “Since creating Boeing South Carolina in 2009, we’ve achieved remarkable milestones. This includes consolidating 787 Dreamliner production in this state,” Stocker said. “This growth reflects our commitment to our incredible teammates, our customers, and the communities we serve.”

In the end the IAM will be part of it all. Just wait it out. Everyone will soon see.

It's beyond obvious that the IAM's days are numbered, so IAM members make sure to invest your measly $12K bonus wisely instead of blowing it on a stupid new truck You'll be needing that $12K to buy the cat food for your family and pay the lawyer for your DWI tickets once Boeing deserts WA...

What a great master plan, move everything to a state where the company can't keep people long term. It failed in wa state, it will fail in SC, this worthless company can't do anything right. Just look at the max, engineering made modifications to an already existing platform, couldn't do that. Built a new plane from scratch (the 87), failed project. They completely move out of wa state, the company will fail. The only reason things kinda work here, we still have the infrastructure from the days of old. Anything new, the company will f up.

Sounds like the master-plan will be to move all commercial work to SC.
Give them time, and bit by bit good buy WA. and good buy IAM

A lot of IAM is never going to see the big payday they went on strike for

Yes. Why expand in WA? More IAM? Unfortunately, I do not think that Boeing will be growing in WA; it will be shrinking its presence in WA. Too bad. Good for Boeing and South Carolina, bad for WA.
