Tone Deaf / Elephant in the Room

Today we had a JG backslapping session with clients we are all forced to waste 1 hour on to watch. How does this help us do our work quicker / better given that we are so underwater?

Inside jokes about their road trips??

What good does this do us in the trenches trying to juggle hundreds of issues other than pull us away from what we are tryign to get done

Why not have a town hall that addresses the elephant in the room?
Staff are scared, tired, fearful, overworked, stressed, don't see a career path, don't get reviews aligned with achievements, doesn't matter how hard they work they will only ever be rated as satiifactory - only 1 % can ever Exceed now. ZERO ROOM FOR GROWTH

Another backslapping BS exercise that does nothing for anyone doing the work other than Execs checking a box to say theyve done something for their own goals.

Can we have a town hall that addresses the challenges with our current workload and resource challenges rather than this BS??

Would not be a surprise at all if people get brow beating to show up just like the "voluntary" survey.

They're not tone deaf. They hear you and don't care. Why should they?

I think it was a bit telling how many empty seats there were in the room. A few years ago you couldn't get a seat if you got there 5 minutes early. And that was before the parking lot was packed, like it was again today.

I'd say it was a silent protest.

And I'm fully anticipating every seat taken in tomorrow's town hall since I'd bet money that "leadership" will be haranguing their people to "fill the room", since it was such a bad look today. So bad that an email was sent 10 minutes into the meeting that barked at people to go down to the meeting. Maybe saying "please" would have been a better touch. Man, you could feel the anger.

Top 100 is being generous. They’re at least top 5.

And we have another hour tomorrow. Can't wait to hear how wonderful we all did this year and how all these new and "improved" in office mandates will make it even better in 2025.

How much did we pay Empire Bank for this meeting? I doubt they did it free of charge.
