Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Top 10 (out of 100) reasons for Intel's downfall

Intel's downfall reasons;

  1. Nepotism based on Nationality.
  2. Duped into buying worthless going bankrupt companies at 5-10x revenue/value/potential (Mobileye, Nervana, Habana, DSP Communications, Wind River, McAffee, Altera,

(https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_mergers_and_acquisitions_by_Intel). Someow Israel knows how to dupe/coerce/cazzole/force Intel's $$.

  1. Attitude that Oregon(RA, JF) TMG/TD/Design is the "center of the universe". Everyone else is just amature.
  2. DEI and ~4months of bonding leave.
  3. Too many sites w no direct connection to product/external customers.
  4. Upper Management has no foresight. They r clueless.
  5. Too many PEs. Senior PEs doing grade 8 work or less and getting ~$250K/yr compensation! There are PE managers w 10 employees to manage and no patents!
  6. Nepot$sm.
  7. Very bad and incompetent IP teams!
  8. All around complex, beauracratic, cumbersome process in design, arch, decisions, layout, production etc. Again too many PEs, Senior PEs butt in to delay the process.

Lastly, very bad ex-CEO (see below):
AMD is in the rear view mirror.
We’ll get lucky just like Nvidia.
We make better chips than that lifestyle company.
I’ve bet the company on 18A.
We’ve reached the bottom!
More interested in Bible Theology than reality/market.
IFS is not going to take single dime from the Govt but then brags about getting/securing ~$10 billion from Govt!

This is getting old. I come here for updates and hot takes on recent events. But every week there's a new list of reasons for Intel's failures. And this has been going on for years. We get it. Thanks.

You missed the top reason, but not surprising.

Well the biggest let down probably is regular share holders got nothing from the spinoffs like Mobileeye or now Altera. Those stocks would have been good value inspite of INTc hitting bottoms.

Agree 100%! $nd$an na--d nepot$sm (hiring, promoting, rewarding, laying off) is legendary in Tech industry and they are openly proud of it. They will share information amongst themselves and hide from non$nd$ans and hide each other's faults while exposing non-$Indian employees faults to higher management. They are good at discrimination, finger pointing, lying, telling half-truth, favoritism and overall d$shonest

You're right on most counts, but I'm pretty sure Habana is currently worth much more than we paid for it, Mobileye and Altera probably as well.

US Labor department shd investigate Intel's hiring practices of discarding/laying-off US Citizens and hiring foreign workers.
Indian managers/VPs (NEX/NXNE's Katti, Lingham) only hires/promotes their own kind. Nepot$sm!
Some US Indian managers has 100% of their employees from India!

Mobileye lost market lead advantage by not maintaining strong IP pipeline now a commodity owned by China

Altera was doing great before Intel hamstrung them. I imagine they will fly high with others as soon as they fully untether from Intel. You may have a point on the other companies, I thought Mobileye did as well as could be expected when brought onboard as they remained a separate entity and were able to fab their chips where they needed to (not at Intel...). Intel acquisitions never pan out, unless the sole point is to remove competition, in that case they are wildly successful.
