UHC stands behind racism and people who engage in it, but punish the ones who speak out - especially if they threatened to sue. I've seen this very thing happen recently. A racist employee made statements in a call with people of color, was held accountable, and filed an HR case on the senior leader who spoke to her. An investigation ensues and during this, a couple promotional opportunities arise within the team. The individual obviously shouldn't be considered given what she'd done and her supervisor aid she wasn't adequately trained and needed to work on her "people skills". Her actions were hurtful to many and hr didn't even want to CAP her. But the senior leader stood by us all - 10 toes down to fight for the right thing, and GOT FIRED because the little racists husband is an attorney and threatened to sue. Its a damn shame.

This was all too common a thing in NC pre-covid (scam, scam, cough-cough)
One rather large and PORTLY fellow well known to the area, barged in on a woman whose complexion was not the same as his and he berated her for just sitting there.
He was 'asked' to find another job.
Re: SCC - No, this was in a different area. But the fact that you're saying that it has occurred in another area only adds support to what I said above. I'm sorry you experienced this also.
Are you talking about the person from SCC that was reprimanded for racially insensitive comments?

Sounds like you're in denial, or maybe it's just Stockholm Syndrome from being on UHCs nuts for too long. Think you're in the wrong place for this topic. Those of us in the trenches at this conglomerate actually know what the score is.
Sounds like an episode of things that never happened in imagination land
UHC isn't the only plan to work for. They might be the biggest insurer, but by no means the best nor the best employer.
Seek better for your own sanity. You deserve - we all do. Keep your head up sis. ♡
Name a Health Plan that doesn’t have any bias. You watch a few videos that say its not acceptable and thats all folks.
When i was being harassed by my boss who is Black, at least 3 people who didn’t know each other said “this is why you don’t work for Black women”. Problem is, I’m Black too. Perhaps this is why it was always such an uphill battle to get promoted…
Bullsh-t.
I watched someone get fired for having an elevated tone with a member, on the spot. They didn't even say anything wrong, they just had a tone with the member.
