Instead they spent the last couple years negotiating with their leader who kept telling them Informatics has no more funding because it was eaten up by another Executive creation of a fu---d up department
Seems to be the norm. Glad someone got the recognition they deserved. Others were laid off who were also deserving of a promotion, because LDs refuse to move on.
this talented person to whom many Informatics systems relied on left to our competitors. At the top of the Aetna salary just a mer 112k to competitors starting salary 140k. Oh and btw this person at our competitors got a full 100% bonsus this year.
Yep. Aetna pays terrible. I am jaded. I've seen abusive, egotistic people in those LD roles who think everyone beneath them is their slave. Who hire their buddies. People showing up on calls clearly inebriated. And they still have leadership roles.
@pdz+1vzjIzU8, @kwa+1vzjIzU8,
The consultants were in a year long contract from Aetna's well known third party vendors For instance, Gainwell or CHC. Third party vendors like them or Quest are paid very well. Btw their white American living in state and not HB1. They did the job of entire departments and ran circles around FTEs and to boot they knew how to do processes improvement. So, yes when their contract was up you betcha if you knew how to spot talent you'd seduce them into a FTE with half the salary they're making as consultants. And in order to lure them away from our vendors yes I am that damn good of a Leader. I wish the company would pay talent compitive fair salaries but Aetna doesn't and btw the sale was that they would be eligible for a nice bonsus as an FTE that would makeup for their loss but guess what they got fu---d like the rest of us this year.
And far as the Informatics Manger of 18yrs, you're assuming it's in the same role for 18 years. They started out at Aetna at the entry level role and transferred into several departments before settling into Informatics. It's extremely hard to get LD or Executive titles in Informatics unless you quit and come back for a higher title. And not many of those titles are open because of long term leadership. This person didn't want to quit and come back for the odd chance something better would open up. Instead they spent the last couple years negotiating with their leader who kept telling them Informatics has no more funding because it was eaten up by another Executive creation of a fu---d up department. So, this talented person to whom many Informatics systems relied on left to our competitors. At the top of the Aetna salary just a mer 112k to competitors starting salary 140k. Oh and btw this person at our competitors got a full 100% bonsus this year.
You could be here for instance an Informatics Manager for 18years
If that person was in that role for 18 years, they .must not be that good.
Good people moved up quicker than that.
But you promoted them? Lol.
@wrz+1vzjIzU8
You may want to read through this site and the thoughts about hiring consultants into FTE roles.
You admitted to being part of the reason people are being laid off.
Let me guess you hired friends and relatives too.
That was a long post to justify promoting certain people and not others. In layoff culture, it doesn't matter. If that LD IC job can be done by someone else for less money, they are eliminated.
@wyi+1vzjIzU8, Do you know why there's Executives reporting to Executives, LDs with no reports, Managers with no reports but are "ICs" taking on a management without actually being management or a team?
No? Well I do. It's because CVS and Aetna HR is fu---d up. If this cheap bag fortune 500 hundred club of a company actually paid their employees and gave them growth and raises you wouldn't see the above happening. Reason why you have executives reporting to other executives is because chances are one of them at one point was a LD and in order for them to get a pay raise they had to branch into executive because this company doesn't allow growth and raises. You could be here for instance an Informatics Manager for 18years and be cut off in wage growth after the first three years. Same with LDs without direct reports. Chances are they were consultants making three times as much as an FTE and you've done such a great job that your boss wants to keep you as an FTE but in order to lure you away from being a consultant to match your agencies wages they will give a LD title with or without direct reports.
If the company just fu--ing paid us fairly and competitively you would not see the cleaver ways leadership has to do to retain talent or their teams/departments and protect their remote workers.
Op, where do you get the information in regards up to February ? Multiple threads perditions since June 2024 predicted layoffs to end of quarter 2025 March. And that's been the constant predictions here in this forem.
That’s wrong, I heard layoffs will go on forever.
Ask yourself this? Do you need Executive Directors reporting to each other? Do Do you need Lead Directors who have no staff? If you have 65 people only working on one thing without tangible results are you doing anything? People created their mini corporations here. Some were so greedy that they cost their own staff their jobs.
The 4 newest members of the board of directors (Glenview capital people), basically said that shareholder value is of primary importance. That just screams more cutbacks.
Anyone here asking for truth is fooling themselves in asking based on what has already taken place. It is 100% guaranteed that layoffs and other shuffling of people around will continue.. the board is run by a hedge fund for God's sake.

Of COURSE LAYOFFS WILL CONTINUE AS A MEANS TO MANIPULATE SHARE VALUE TO CREATE THE ILLUSION THAT POSITIVE CHANGES ARE HAPPENING..
Aetna Town Hall is tomorrow 11/20/24
Op where's a shred of truth to your rumor?
Yes, that is true. These are the layoffs they planned under Lynch being rolled out in waves. However, this will not be the end of them. Fully expect layoffs to continue throughout 2025. They are desperate to return to profitability / share holder value
